Mrs. Myrtice Hope Ackerman, 62, of Walterboro, entered into rest Thursday morning, March 26, 2026, at the Colleton Medical Center in Walterboro with her loving family at her side.

Born July 14, 1963, in Charleston, South Carolina, she was a daughter of the late Clayton Hope and the late Grace Binnarr Hope. After the death of her mother, her dear aunt, the late Estelle Binnarr Meree played an integral role in her upbringing.

Myrtice loved children and was a longtime daycare provider. She enjoyed traveling, camping, being in the sun and camping. Her favorite pastime chore was always cutting the grass.

Surviving are: her husband of forty years, Mr. Charles G. Ackerman, Sr; a son, Charles G. Ackerman, Jr. of Walterboro; two sisters, Doreen Meree Forna (Cliff) and Darlene Meree Hoff (Charlie); a sister-in-law, Rhonda Bazzle (James) of Walterboro; and a host of nieces and nephews whom she dearly loved, Karen Nix, George Benton, Eugene Benton, Wesley Davis, Joey Davis, Krystle Gregory, James Bazzle, Jr., and Kevin Bazzle. She was preceded in death by her brother, Charles Edward Hope.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that memorials be directed in her memory to: Friends of Colleton County Animal Shelter, 33 Poor Farm Road, Walterboro, South Carolina 29488.

Funeral services will be conducted at 12 noon Monday, March 30, 2026, from The Brice W. Herndon and Sons Funeral Chapel, Walterboro. The Reverend Nick Fox officiating. Interment will follow in Hughes Cemetery near Round O.
