Miriam Ritter Carter

Mrs. Miriam Claudette Ritter Carter, 77, entered into rest Wednesday afternoon, May 11, 2016, at the Lexington Medical Center.

Funeral services will be conducted 3 o’clock Friday afternoon, May 13, 2016, from the graveside at Ebenezer United Methodist Churchyard.

Born November 19, 1938, in Ritter, she was a daughter of the late Paul Samuel Ritter and Pauline Rayme Ritter Crawford.  She was a member of the family church, Ebenezer United Methodist Church in Ritter.  Miriam Enjoyed singing and dancing as well as bingo.  She was an avid reader of the Bible and Christian literature.  She loved God and possessed a strong faith.

Surviving are: six sisters, Amelia Grimm of Walterboro, Joyce Osborne of Walterboro, Iris Pellino of Texas, Betty Mizzell of Moncks Corner, Deborah Cummins and her husband Jeffery of Walterboro, and Audrey Albers and her husband Bobby of Ravenel; a brother, Lester Hiers and his wife Doris of Greenwood; an uncle, Raymond Ritter and his wife Ethel of Charleston; four aunts, and many nieces and nephews as well as cousins.  She was preceded in death by a brother, Wendell Hiers.
