Biography

Mrs. Minnie Lee Folk Mitchum, 94, widow of George Homer Mitchum, entered into eternal rest of Tuesday, March 6,2012.

Funeral services will be held at 2 pm, on Saturday, March 10, 2012, at the Ehrhardt Chapel of the Brice W. Herndon and Sons Funeral Home. Burial will follow at St. Johns Baptist Church Cemetery.

Mrs. Mitchum was born September 15, 1917 in Olar, SC and was the daughter of the late Julius Augustus Folk and Lalla Maye Rush Folk. She was a member of St. Johns Baptist Church where she was a former Sunday school teacher. She loved working in her yard, quilting and canning. She will always be remembered for her famous peanut brittle.

Surviving are; her daughter, Sarah Ray of Summerville, six grandchildren, many great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by a son, William L. Mitchum, two brothers and one sister.

In lieu of flowers the family is requesting that donations be made to St. Johns Baptist Church Library Fund, 2468 St. Johns Church Road, Ehrhardt SC 29081.

The Family will receive friends on Friday, March 9, 2012, from 6 until 8 pm at the Brice w. Herndon and Sons Funeral Home, 2515 Lowcountry Highway, Erhrardt, SC. 803.267.1971.
