RIDGELAND-Mrs. Minnie Lee Malphrus Lee, 93, of 479 Smiths Crossing, Ridgeland, passed away Saturday, February 21, 2009, at her residence. She was the widow of Mr. Danny Lee.



Funeral services will be held 3:00 PM, Monday, February 23, 2009, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Ridgeland. Interment will follow in the Great Swamp Baptist Church Cemetery in Ridgeland. Visitation will be held Monday afternoon from 2 pm until the hour of service at the church.



Mrs. Lee was born November 9, 1915 in Ridgeland, SC and was a daughter of the late John Walter Malphrus and Golda Virginia Lowther Malphrus. She was a seamstress for over 30 years at Holiday Wear in Ridgeland and was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. A beloved mother and grandmother, she will always be remembered for the love she had for her family, as well as being an avid gardener and wonderful cook.



Surviving are: her children, Laura Gwendolyn Boyd of Beaufort, Sherwood Norman Fender, Sr. of Beaufort, Phoebie Ferguson of Ridgeland and John David Boyles of Ridgeland; brothers, John Walter Malphrus, Jr. of Ridgeland, Hubert Allen Malphrus Sr. of Ridgeland and Pinckney Ryan Malphrus of Ridgeland; sisters, Lizzie Bell Woods of Ridgeland, Earline Price of Ridgeland, Myrtice Gibbons of Hardeeville and Dorothy Way of Ridgeland; 10 grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren; her beloved caregiver, Kim Bonds; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a grandson, Timothy Ferguson; brothers, Charlie Malphrus, Nephi Malphrus and Allen Malphrus; and sisters, Lillie Spilliards and Myrtice Malphrus.
