Mrs. Mildred Millie Walker Fox, 90, of Ehrhardt, entered into eternal rest Thursday, January 23, 2014 at Care Home, Personal Angels, Sandy Springs, Georgia.
Mrs. Fox was born July 20, 1923 in Ehrhardt and was a daughter of the late Joseph Henry Walker and Julia Belger Walker. She attended Ehrhardt Public Schools and upon graduation from high school attended Furman University where she graduated with a BA in Elementary Education.
Millie married her high school sweetheart, late Cyril Pete Fox, on July 19, 1948. Upon Petes death in 2012, he and Millie were married for 64 years. They lived in several US cities where Millie taught school as Pete worked and traveled internationally for Eastman Kodak.
Mrs. Foxs musical keyboard talent brought much joy to her friends over the years. She was what one might call the life of every party. For many years she served various churches in cities where they resided as church pianist and organist. She did volunteer work throughout her life and was at one time voted Volunteer of the Year in the state of Tennessee.
Upon Petes retirement from Kodak in 1977, the Foxes returned to their roots in the town of Ehrhardt. They remolded the home where Millie had grown up and lived there until moving to Roswell, Georgia in 2011. Millie continued to delight people with her musical abilities serving as organist at Ehrhardt Baptist Church until age 87. She was also involved in the Garden Club and the DAR organization. Throughout her life, she was dedicated to her church as she taught Bible study and served on various church committees. She was a wonderful Christian lady and found great delight in serving her Lord.
Mrs. Fox is survived by one son, Cyril Fox, III of Roswell, Georgia, who assumed responsibility for her care during her later years of life.
