Biography

Mrs. Mildred Mixon Crosby, 89, of Bedon Road, Walterboro, entered into rest Tuesday morning, November 18, 2014, at the Oakwood Health Care Center in Walterboro. She was the wife of the late Mr. Arthur Julian Crosby.

Funeral services will be conducted 10 o'clock Thursday morning, November 20, 2014, from the graveside at Bedon Baptist Churchyard, 2410 Cottageville Highway, Walterboro. The family will receive friends following the committal ceremony at the cemetery.

Born September 4, 1925, a native of Walterboro, she was a daughter of the late Wally E. Mixon and the late Janie Elizabeth Pye Mixon. She was a retired seamstress from Carolina Girl's Ware in Saint George. She loved the Lord and worshiped Him at Living Word Outreach Ministries in Walterboro. She will be fondly remembered for her love of flowers.

Surviving are: seven children, Wally Crosby, Mary Herrington, Martha Mitchum, Lena Moore, Jackie Chapman (Wayne Davis), and Ellen Crosby all of Walterboro, and Jean Shaw (Lynn) of Troy, New York; and a sister, Almena Carroll of Saint Matthews. There are twenty-two grandchildren and a beloved host of great grandchildren and great great grandchildren that also survive.
