Mrs. Michelle Dwan Rumfelt, 64, of Seabrook, entered into rest Thursday evening, July 23, 2026, at her residence.

Born October 18, 1961, in Savannah, Georgia, she was a daughter of John Colson Shearouse and the late Mary Maxey Harvey. She was a member of Saint Anthony Catholic Church in Walterboro and will always be remembered as a devoted mother who always centered her life around her family and friends. She enjoyed music and was a talented singer and was a great southern cook.

Surviving in addition to her father, John and his wife Dianne are: five children, Joey Rumfelt (Amber Flowers), James Rumfelt (Hannah), Robin Thomas (Allen), Ashley Mock (Eric), and Jordan Mixson; her life partner, Barry Mixson; five brothers, Michael Shearouse, Johnny Shearouse, Jeffrey Shearouse, Donny Shearouse, and James Milligan; and a sister, Debbie Wilson. There are seventeen grandchildren, Owen, Layla, Brom, Lily, Anderson, Finnley, Anna Kate, Trey, Ryan, Riley, Raelyn, Caroline, Kaylee, Easton, River, Hayden, and Walker; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, and extended family members. She was preceded in death by her step-father, Harry Harvey.

Funeral services will be conducted at 4 o’clock Tuesday afternoon, August 4, 2026, from The Brice W. Herndon and Sons Funeral Chapel, Walterboro. The family will receive friends following the funeral ceremony.
