Michelle Poston

Michelle Poston, 41, of Walterboro, passed away Wednesday evening, November 2, 2016, at Trident Medical Center in North Charleston.  She was preceded in death by her longtime companion, Kevin Ramsey.

Funeral services will be conducted 3 o’clock Monday afternoon, November 7, 2016, from The Brice W. Herndon and Sons Funeral Chapel, Walterboro.  Interment will follow in Glendale Memorial Cemetery, 2210 Mount Carmel Road, Walterboro.

Born July 24, 1975 in Walterboro, South Carolina, she was a daughter of Rena Bailey Smoak and the late Jerry Michael Poston.  She was a member of Hendersonville Baptist Church.  A former employee of the Tobacco Shop, she will always be remembered as a good Southern Cook and avid South Carolina Gamecock fan.

Surviving are: her mother, Rena Bailey Smoak and her husband David Lyons; a daughter Tessa Godley of Walterboro; three brothers, Matthew Smoak and his wife Chelsey and their daughter Katheryn of Walterboro, Travis Groves and his wife Sarah of Maplewood, Minnesota, and John Ashley Poston of Texas; two grandchildren, Jaylyn and “Junior”; and her grandparents, Frances Monette and her husband Andy of Walterboro and Ernest Bailey of Summerville. She was also survived by several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews to include a very special cousin, Melissa Reeves. She was predeceased by her grandparents Roylee and Eugene Poston.
