Michael Staton

Mr. Michael Paul Staton, 39, of Cottageville, entered into eternal rest Tuesday evening, September 6, 2022.

Born October 2, 1982 in Charleston, he was a son of Arlene Carroll Christian and the late Paul Anthony Staton.  He worked for GMW Custom Cabinetry.  Michael loved to help anyone he could and could do anything he set his mind to.  He was a jack of all trades.  He enjoyed motor cross racing, skateboarding and was known as “Skatin Staton”.  More than anything, he loved his family, especially his daughter who was his greatest joy.

Surviving are: his wife, Tracy Hayes Staton of Cottageville; daughter, Kylie Ann Staton of Cottageville; parents, Arlene and Paul Christian of Dorchester; grandmother, Kaye Willis Hull of Cottageville; brother, Paul E. “Chris” Christian, III of Summerville and his family; sister, Heather Melissa Christian Chamberlin of Summerville and her family; his in-laws, Patrick and Gail Hayes of Morristown, Tennessee; brother-in-law, Shawn Patrick Hayes and his family; sisters-in-law, Sarah Mae Hayes and her family and Jill Marie Trinitapoli and her family; as well as many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his parents, Paul and Kathy Staton; maternal grandparents, Paul and Linda Carroll; and paternal grandparents, Chuck and Bobbi Staton.

Funeral services will be held 11 o’clock, Saturday morning, September 10, 2022 at The Brice Herndon Funeral Chapel, Walterboro.  The family will receive friends immediately following the service.
