Mr. Mendel J. Readie Crosby, 77, of Walterboro, entered into rest Saturday evening, January 1, 2022 at Colleton Medical Center.

Born May 21, 1944 in Colleton County, he was a son of the late John Cornelius Crosby and Sarah Neta Roberts Crosby. He worked for Danny Kinard for many years. Mendel will always be remembered as a kind person who always did anything he could to help someone who needed it.  He always had a smile and a story to share with you.  Most of all, he loved his dogs and cherished his family.

He is survived by many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.  He was preceded in death by his brothers and sisters, James “Doc” Crosby, Patricia Ann Bennett, Shirley Lenora Crosby, Mary Ann Pellum, John C. Crosby, Harry A. Crosby, Marion N. Crosby, Jimmy H. Crosby, Reginald D. Crosby, Wanda Mae Risher, Hattie Ruth Herndon, and Elise Crosby.

The family will receive friends from 11 o'clock until 12 noon Saturday, January 8, 2021, at the funeral home with a graveside service following in the Williams Cemetery.
