Melba Ashley

Mrs. Melba Brown Ashley, 70, of Ruffin, passed away Friday, March 6, 2020 at the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston.

Born October 29, 1949 in Oconee County, she was a daughter of the late Ernest Brown and Ollie Rebecca Whitman Brown.  She retired from Smoaks Manufacturing.  Mrs. Ashley was a member of Spring Hill Baptist Church.  She dearly loved her church and was a faithful attendee.  She loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren, and dear friends, Joyce Roberts and Shirly Green.

Surviving are: her husband of 52 years, Pete Ashley of Ruffin; children, Brenda Ashley of Walterboro, Kenneth Dale Ashley of Walterboro, and Tammy Ashley Beckett and her husband Harry of Walterboro; brother, Cecil Brown; grandchildren, Ryan Ashley and his wife Michelle, Cameron Ashley, Patricia Beckett (Logan Givens), Olivia Beckett, and Jacob Sauls; and great grandchildren, Carter Ashley, Eli Ashley, Owen Ashley, Gracelynn Rose Givens.

A memorial service will be held on July 11, 2020 at 4:00 PM at Spring Hill Baptist Church in Cottageville, SC.
