Maybelle Padgett

Mrs. Maybelle Garvin Padgett, 82, of Hadwin Road, Bamberg, entered into eternal rest Saturday, December 8, 2012 at her residence. She was first married to the late Oscar O’Quinn and secondly to the late Graham Padgett.

Funeral services will be held 1 pm, Tuesday, December 11, 2012 at The Brice W. Herndon and Sons Funeral Home, Walterboro Chapel. Interment will follow in Black Creek Baptist Church Cemetery.

Mrs. Padgett was born April 28, 1930 in Colleton County and was a daughter of the late Lewis Garvin and Mabel Hoats Garvin. She was a member of Spring Branch Baptist Church and was a retired seamstress. She was currently employed at the Ehrhardt Residential Care and will always be remembered as a hard worker and as someone who was devoted to her family.

Surviving are: her daughters, Mary Ellen White of Beaufort and Barbara Ann Walling of Hendersonville; brothers, Willie Garvin of Reevesville and Robert Garvin of Walterboro; sisters, Rosa O’Quinn of Walterboro, Mary Lou Grossie of Walterboro and Laura Risher of Walterboro; and grandsons, Shannon Woods of Bamberg and Will Willis of Blackville. There are 6 other grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; and 1 great great grandchild that also survive. She was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Mary Beth Willis and a sister, Phoebe Youmans.
