Max Hardy (Jr.) Lee

Max Hardy Lee, Jr., 54, of Varnville, entered into eternal rest Friday, September 15, 2023, at his residence in Varnville.

Born July 18, 1969 in Ocean County, New Jersey. He graduated from Wade Hampton High School and attended college in Allendale. He was the son of the late Max Hardy Lee, Sr., Betty Gunnells, and Bobby Gunnells who was like a second dad whom he loved very much. He was a loving and devoted father, brother, uncle and friend who was known for his laughter and his wanting to make everyday an adventure. He served in the Army at a young age and was a dedicated family man. He was a person who was always planning his next adventure. He loved fishing and he loved traveling the open roads. He also loved attending events like concerts or shows.

He was known as someone who could brighten your day with just the corniest jokes possible. He was known by his family to be adventurous and kindhearted. He was a person who would put family before himself. He was deeply loved by everyone who knew him and he will be truly missed. He left so many memories for us to remember and carry with us and he will be forever in our hearts. Fly high with the angels now as you are gone but never forgotten.

Survived by his daughter, Lisa Lee of Augusta; sisters, Nicci Lee of Varnville and Heather Lee of Killeen, Texas; brother Chris Lee of Cummings; nieces, Amanda Lee of Hampton and Ellie Holstein of Virginia; nephew, Anthony Lee of Hampton and many more nieces and nephews.
