Mrs. Maude Ginn Nettles, 74, of Walterboro, entered into rest Monday afternoon, September 1, 2014, at her daughters residence in Beaufort.
Funeral services will be conducted 11 oclock Thursday morning, September 4, 2014, from Pine Grove Baptist Church No. 1, 99 Pine Grove Road, Walterboro. The Reverend Ken McCaskill officiating. Interment will follow in the churchyard.
Born March 19, 1940, a native of Jasper County, South Carolina, she was a daughter of the late William Robert Ginn, Sr. and the late Gertrude Sanders Ginn. Maude established her strong work ethic through her tireless dedication as a loom operator having been employed by Walterboro Dress Plant and then Smoaks Manufacturing before retiring from J.P. Stevens in Walterboro. The last of her working career was spent as a clerk at her sons business, Nettles Convenience Store. Her family church was Pine Grove Baptist Church No. 1 and she will be fondly remembered for her love of spending time on the water.
Surviving are: her son, Donnie A. Nettles of Charleston; two daughters, Barbara Nettles Polk and her husband Timmy of Beaufort and Janice Nettles Jones of Walterboro; a brother, Franklin Ginn of Sheldon; and a sister, Linda Bowers of Walterboro. There are two grandchildren, Tanner Hudson and Conner Jones as well as a great grandchild, Kayla Hudson that also survive. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Robert Ginn, Jr. and Doug Ginn; and three sisters, Louise Wright, Irene Reynolds, and Mary Hill.
