Mattie Jean Smoak Jordan

Mrs. Mattie Jean Smoak Jordan, 94, of Round O, entered into rest Wednesday evening, August 12, 2020, at the Colleton Medical Center in Walterboro.  She was the wife of the late Mr. Ernest Haskell Jordan to whom she was married to for fifty-two years at the time of his death in 2018.

Born February 5, 1926, in Colleton County, South Carolina, she was a daughter of the late Sylvester H. Smoak and the late Emma Hiott Smoak.  She was a devoted homemaker and member of Jones Swamp Pentecostal Holiness Church.

Surviving are: two sons, Michael Anderson and his wife Helen of Fort Mill and Dennis Anderson and his wife Frances of Hanahan; a step-son, Nelson Jordan and his wife Martha of Bennettsville; a son-in-law, Mike Taylor; a sister, Emma Dell Nettles of Charleston; five grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by a step-daughter, Bonita Taylor; and a grandchild.

Funeral services will be held at 11 o’clock Saturday morning, August 15, 2020, from the graveside at Jones Swamp Pentecostal Holiness Church Cemetery, 320 Jones Swamp Road, Walterboro.  Pastor Tom Polk officiating.
