Matthew Mitchell

Mr. Matthew Cornelius Mitchell, 12, of Walterboro, entered into eternal rest Saturday afternoon, December 2, 2023, at the Shawn Jenkins Children’s Hospital of The Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston.

Born October 28, 2011, in Aiken, South Carolina, he was known by all as “Juicy” and enjoyed country music.

During his life, he left a lasting impression on countless people who dearly loved him.  He leaves behind a large and loving host of friends and family as well as his foster family, Timmy and Karen Crosby of Walterboro and their children, Tamara Lake (Allan), Tansi Crosby (Cameron), Cody O’Quinn (Kayla), Trevor Crosby (Neeley), and Alyssa K. Crosby.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2 o’clock Thursday afternoon, December 7, 2023, from The Brice W. Herndon and Sons Funeral Chapel, Walterboro.   The Reverend Ricky Crosby and The Reverend Danny Zorn officiating.  Interment will follow in Glendale Memorial Cemetery, 2210 Mount Carmel Road, Walterboro.
