Matthew Austin Bishop, Sr.

Matthew Austin Bishop, Sr., 29, of Walterboro, entered into eternal rest Friday, February 17, 2023, at his residence.

Matthew was born October 25, 1993, in Walterboro, South Carolina.  He was a son of Mr. Victor Barry Bishop and Mrs. Jennifer L. Brobst Bresch.

Matthew was man that had a contagious smile and an enormous personality about him.  Even when he was a little boy, he was a precious baby.  He was a passionate person with a kind soul.  Matthew will always be known as an avid Philadelphia Eagles fan.  He also enjoyed philly cheese steak sandwiches.  Matthew loved grilling out and cooking out with his family, riding four wheelers and flying R.C airplanes, even shooting them down.  Matthew often enjoyed reading his Bible and discussing Bible verses with his family.

He is survived by: his parents, Victor Bishop and Jennifer Brobst (Donnie); his son, Matthew Bishop, Jr.; brothers, Grayson Bishop and D.J. Bresch; his best friend and uncle, Jason Brobst; uncle, Allen Bishop; his cousin, who was like a brother to him, Marlin Bishop; and a host of cousins.

Matthew was preceded in death by: his maternal grandparents, Carol and Ron Brobst; and paternal grandparents, Eleanor and Wendell Bishop.

A memorial service will be conducted at 3 o’clock, Saturday afternoon, February 25, 2023, at New Hope Christian Church, 5144 Forks Road, Islandton, South Carolina, 29929.

The family will receive friends for a time of visitation following the service.
