Mary "Terry" Bishop

Mrs. Mary “Terry” Bishop, 77, of Islandton, entered into rest Thursday morning, March 31, 2022, at her residence.   She was the loving wife of forty-eight years to the late Mr. Paschel “Sonny” Bishop, Jr.

Born February 28, 1945, in Winooski, Vermont, she was the youngest and last surviving of nine children born of the late Ulemas and Leona Goyette Garceau.  She was a member of Adnah United Methodist Church in Islandton.   She worked for many years as a seamstress before working in assembly at Lecreuset where she retired.  She enjoyed fishing and will always be remembered for the joy she possessed in spending time with her family and others.

Surviving are: three children, Stephen Bishop of Walterboro, Randy Bishop and his wife Stacy of Islandton, and Dawn Bishop of Walterboro; seven grandchildren; and one great grandchild.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11 o’clock Saturday morning, April 2, 2022, from Adnah United Methodist Church, Adnah Church Road, Islandton.  The Reverend Jim Hensley officiating.   Interment will follow in the churchyard.  The family will receive friends prior to the funeral ceremony Saturday morning beginning at 10 o’clock in the church sanctuary.
