Ms. Mary Sue Gillispie, 70, of North, entered into rest Monday evening, January 19, 2026, at Lexington Medical Center.

Born September 2, 1955, in Jacksonville, North Carolina, she was a daughter of the late Ira Wilford Gillispie and the late Mary Julia Hiers Gillispie. She, for thirty-one years, worked as a Information Technology specialist with Square D in Columbia. Following that, she worked and retired from Augusta Fiberglass in Blackville and had worked as a personal accountant in her own practice. Mary Sue was always the life of the party and the greatest joy to be around. To each of her nieces and nephews, she would always give her famous line, “you’re my favorite” before hanging up. She loved old cars and animals. She was a member of First Christian Church in Walterboro.

Surviving are: her companion of thirty years, Mr. Frank A. Osegueda; a brother, Patrick Gillispie (Leslie) of Kentucky; as well as a host of nieces and nephews. She was also survived by Frank’s children, Edward Osegueda and Sherry Osegueda. She was preceded in death by a sister, Cathy Bryan; and a brother, Bruce Gillispie.

A celebration of life service will be conducted at 11 o’clock Saturday morning, January 31, 2026, from The Brice W. Herndon and Sons Funeral Chapel, Walterboro.  The Reverend Cheri Griffin Yates officiating.  

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that memorials be directed in her memory to one’s local no-kill animal shelter.
