Mary Smith

WALTERBORO- Mrs. Mary Donna Estes Smith, 64, of 122 Wildwood Drive, passed away Friday, June 27, 2008 at her residence.



Mrs. Smith was born August 7, 1943 in Walterboro and was a daughter of the late Carter Estes and Mary Zena Ulmer Himes. She was first married to the late S.V. Callahan and secondly to the late Winston Smith. Mrs. Smith was a volunteer seamstress for the Variety Show in Walterboro, the Drama Club and also made costumes for haunted houses. She was a member of Living Word Church, a Girl Scout Troop Leader and devout Christian.



Surviving are: her children, Donna Callahan of Torrington, CT, Billy Callahan of Edisto Island and Rhonda Carpenter of Simpsonville; sisters, Margie Shropshire of Edmonds, OK and her twin, Martha Phillips of Walterboro; brother, Don L. Pool of Walterboro; and grandchildren, Jonathan Prouse, Brian Prouse and Erik Johannsen, all of Torrington, CT, and Holly Carpenter and Hunter Carpenter, both of Simpsonville. She was preceded in death by a brother, Charlie Pool.
