Mary Elizabeth Seeser

Ms. Mary Elizabeth Seeser, 78, of North Charleston, entered into eternal rest Saturday, February 14, 2026, at Colleton Medical Center.

Born March 17, 1947, in Ashland, Kentucky, she was a daughter to the late Paul Emerson Shortridge and the late Betty Harris Shortridge. Mary was a retired parts inspector for Bosch. She was a member of St. Theresa the Little Flower Catholic Church. She was a horseback rider and in her younger years she participated in Dressage at Steeplechase events. Mary was a published poetry author.

Surviving are: three daughters, Samantha Haakinson of Charleston, South Carolina, Angela Witt (Charles) of Red House, West Virginia, and Anita Checks (Curtis) of Bancroft, West Virginia; a sister Kimberly Freiha of Cleveland, Ohio; seven grandchildren Miranda, Cody, Mason, Hannah, John, Dakota, and Kenna; and five great-grandchildren Audrey, Oliver, Alexander, Cecilia, and Knox.

Mary was preceded by two sisters, Peggy Murphy and Sheila Kelly.
