Mary was born on August 19, 1928 in Ligonier IN to Alice and John Kettlebar.

She was a military wife for many years which is what brought her to Beaufort, SC in 1963. In 1968 she went to work for the John Demosthenes Company, where they produced all of the uniforms for the Marines that come through Parris Island. She retired from there as a supervisor, in 2009 at the age of 81. She was a founding member of Shell Point Baptist Church. She continued to live independently until her health issues began to give her  struggles. She moved into an apartment at her daughter's house in Gray's, SC in July of 2015, where she lived happily until God needed her with him. She loved to knit, crochet, do crossword puzzles, jigsaw puzzles, go shopping and spoil her family when she could. She was selfless and had a heart of gold. She would and did help her family in any way she could without question.

She is preceded in death by her parents; three sisters, Wanda Wiley (Frank), Chloe Glaser (Joe) and Mildred Kettlebar; five brothers, Max, Wilbur, Cal, Al and Tom Kettlebar.

She is survived by: her oldest child Tony Rex (Joann) of North Carolina, youngest child Lynn Rex Crosby and son in law Jeff Crosby; grandchildren, Jackie Fogarty (Matt) and Nick Rex (Alli), Kyle Johnson and his wife and her granddaughter Jenny Johnson; great grandchildren, Ian and Nora Fogarty, Hudson, Hailey, Caroline and Camden Rex; great grandsons, Landen and Luke Johnson. Also her nieces and nephews who always remembered her with phone calls, cards and gifts that made her so happy.

Mary planned everything so that there would be no burden on her family. She elected to not have a viewing or service. She will be interred at Grimes Cemetery in Gray's, SC at a later time.
