Ms. Mary Frances Stieglitz Solomon, 93, a longtime resident of Charleston, South Carolina, entered into rest Sunday evening, April 19, 2026, at The Palms of Mount Pleasant.
Born February 17, 1933, in Colleton County, South Carolina, she was a daughter of the late John Thomas Stieglitz and the late Alma Jones Stieglitz. An accomplished and highly sought after musician, she was the organist for several churches throughout the Lowcountry of South Carolina having served well into her 80’s as Organ Mistress of the Historic Wesley United Methodist Church in Charleston. She also taught piano privately to countless folks in her home.
Surviving are: Surviving are: her sons, John “Phil” Solomon and James “Jim” Solomon (n/k/a Yaakov Shlomo); her dear cousin who cared for her, Mary Elizabeth Clark (Byron); as well as several grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was preceded in death by a son, Edmond “Brad” Solomon, III; a brother, John Stieglitz; and a sister, Judy Stieglitz.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11 o’clock Thursday morning, April 23, 2026, from the graveside at Live Oak Cemetery, South Jefferies Boulevard, Walterboro.
