Mary Bodiford Collins

Mrs. Mary Bodiford Collins, 79, of Bamberg, entered into eternal rest Monday, November 14, 2016 at her residence.  She was first married to the late Floyd Bodiford, Jr., and was the widow of James Collins.

Funeral services will be held at 2 pm, Thursday, November 17, 2016 at The Brice W. Herndon and Sons Funeral Home, Ehrhardt-Bamberg Chapel.  Interment will follow in South End Cemetery in Bamberg.

Born August 21, 1937 in Bamberg, she was a daughter of the late Ed Hiott and Eliza Croft Hiott.  She was a member of Word of Life Pentecostal Holiness Church of Bamberg.  She loved fishing and loved to cook for everyone, but most of all, loved her family and loved taking care of her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Surviving are: her children, Clarence Bearden and his wife Elaine of Cope, Clyde Bearden and his wife Dianne of Bamberg, and Dianne Cooler and her husband Danny of Bamberg; sister, Annabell Cooler and her husband Buck of Bamberg; 14 grandchildren; 24 great grandchildren; and 7 great-great grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by a son, Eddie Bearden; great granddaughter, Lawton Alyssa Bishop; and a sister, Elma Ruth Still.
