Mrs. Martha Louise Shaw, affectionately known by many as Tootsie, age 78, of 166 Chamblee Road, Walterboro, entered into her state of eternal rest Thursday evening, February 11, 2010, at the Hospice of Charleston Center in Mount Pleasant.



Funeral services will be conducted 2 oclock Monday afternoon, February 15, 2010, from The Brice W. Herndon and Sons Funeral Chapel, Walterboro with The Reverend James W. Williams, Jr. officiating. Interment will follow in Glendale Memorial Cemetery, 2210 Mount Carmel Road, Walterboro.



Mrs. Shaw was born December 24, 1931, in Cowards, South Carolina and was a daughter of the late Roy Filyaw and the late Bertha Anderson Filyaw. She was retired from the United States Army Air Force Exchange Service and was a member of Edgewood Baptist Church. She will always be remembered for the love and devotion she had not only to her husband but to all she knew, never expecting or wanting for anything in return.



Surviving are: her husband of sixty years, Mr. Rab Shaw; two sons, Thomas Shaw and his friend Judy Crosby of Green Pond and Harry Shaw and his wife Jane of Walterboro; and two brothers, Bud Filyaw of Cowards and Donnie Filyaw of Manning. There are three grandchildren and two great grandchildren that also survive. She was preceded in death by a sister, Larue Burbage.
