Martha Hickman

Mrs. Martha Carol Chubb Hickman, 75, of Round O, entered into eternal rest Friday evening, September 20, 2024, at her residence.  She was the wife of the late James Moody Hickman, Sr. to whom she was married 51 years.

Born April 27, 1949, in Summerville, she was a daughter of the late Alfred Wilson Chubb, Sr. and Opal Seay Chubb.  She retired from Lowe’s Home Improvement Warehouse in James Island, where she was a financial manager.  She was a member of Adams Run Baptist Church.  She loved reading, crocheting and cooking for her family,

Surviving are: her sons, James Hickman, Jr. of Round O and Roy Hickman, Sr. of Round O; brothers, Tony Chubb of Jacksonboro, Alfred Chubb of Walterboro, and Justin Chubb of Ravenel; sisters, Betty Johnson of Summerville and Audrey Chubb of Summerville; 17 grandchildren; 30 great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her daughter, Carol Terry; grandson, John Terry, Jr.; great granddaughter, Willow Mae; brother, Harry Chubb; and sister, Mary Johnson.

Graveside funeral services will be held 11 o’clock, Friday morning, September 27, 2024, at Adams Run Cemetery.
