Mrs. Martha Faye Ellett, 61, of Cottageville, entered into her state of eternal rest Wednesday afternoon, February 23, 2011, at her residence under the care of Amedysis Hospice.



Funeral services will be conducted 3 oclock Sunday afternoon, February 27, 2011, from the graveside at Ellett Family Cemetery, 322 Joyland Lane, Cottageville. The family will receive friends following the funeral ceremony at the cemetery.



Mrs. Ellett was born April 8, 1949, in Clarksville, Tennessee, and was a daughter of the late Lyman Phillips and the late Edith Selph Phillips. She was a manager for the Kangaroo Store in Walterboro and was a member of Hillcrest Baptist Church in North Charleston. She loved to sew and had fashioned many clothing outfits for her family and friends as well as had an avid love for reading mystery and romance novels. She loved her family dearly and always enjoyed being with her grandchildren. Faye possessed a character that always brought smiles and laughter to those around her. After being diagnosed with cancer, she became a strong inspiration to others giving guidance, strength, and love to many.



Surviving are: her husband of thirty years, Mr. James Markland Ellett, Sr.; a son, Shane Winslow and his wife Brenda of Greenville; three daughters, Karen Ellett of Columbia, Monica Adams and her husband Roger of Round O, Robynn Collins and her husband Dean of Walterboro; a step-son, James Markland Ellett, Jr. and his wife Kristin of Waterford, Connecticut; a brother, Mike Phillips of Clarksville, Tennessee; and three sisters, Sue Usher, Gibbonsville, Idaho, Sherry Cook of Sherman, Texas, Kaye Willborn of Madison, Wisconsin. There are five grandchildren, Petra Winslow, R. J. Adams, Meredith Adams, Isabell Collins, Abigail Collins.



In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to: Colleton County Relay for Life, 5900 Core Road, North Charleston, SC 29406.
