Martha Carter

WALTERBORO- Mrs. Martha Polk Carter, 90, of Walterboro, died Sunday, March 29, 2009 at Cordelia Manor in Cordele, Georgia.



Graveside funeral services will be held 11 am, Tuesday, March 31, 2009, at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens.



Mrs. Carter was born February 13, 1919 and was the daughter of Marion and Anna Polk. She was a retired federal employee, a member of the Homemakers Club, PEP Club and Sewing Club. She was an avid gardener, known as the Flower Lady on Bells Highway, with tulips and daffodils flowering in her garden each spring.



Surviving are: her husband of 61 years, Wendell Carter; son, Wendy Carter and his wife Amy of Warwick, Georgia; and one grandson, Wen Carter of Warwick, Georgia.
