Biography

Mr. Marshall Donniehue Smith, 76, of Walterboro, died Sunday, April 10, 2011 at his residence.

Funeral services were held 4 o'clock Wednesday, April 13, 2011 at The Brice W. Herndon and Sons Funeral Home, Walterboro Chapel. Entombment followed in Glendale Memorial Mausoleum, Walterboro.

Mr. Smith was born November 28, 1934 in Colleton County and was a son of the late Junior Postell Smith and Kathleen Jutson Smith. He was a retired weaver from Asten Hill and served in the SC National Guard. He was faithful member of Edgewood Baptist Church, where he was a past Deacon and served the church in capacities. He loved fishing, working in his garden, and listening to country music.

Surviving are: his wife of 50 years, Sandra Mitchell Smith; children, Donna Lee Smith of Walterboro and Jeffrey Mitchell Smith of Cleveland, Ohio; grandchildren, Ashley Nicole "Nikki" Lemacks and Dustin Christopher Lemacks, both of Walterboro; son-in-law, JaDon Lemacks of Yemassee; and a brother, Junior McTeer Smith and his wife Linda of New Bern, NC. He was preceded in death by a sister, Doris Smith Langdale and 7 other siblings.
