Mr. Marshall Windell Ryan, Sr., 84, of Ruffin, entered into eternal rest Wednesday evening, December 21, 2022 at his residence.
Born March 22, 1938 in Colleton County, he was a son of the late Ervin Richard Ryan and Pearl O’Bryan Ryan. He worked for many years for DeVant Manufacturing in Allendale and eventually retired from Smoaks Manufacturing. He was a member of Bethel United Methodist Church in Ruffin where he served as a Trustee. Marshall was a member of Bells Masonic Lodge #236 for 60 years where he was a Past Master. He loved the outdoors and was a lifetime member of the Ruffin Hunting Club.
Surviving are: his wife of 61 years, Carolyn Fender Ryan of Ruffin; children, Brenda Ryan Rankin and her husband Ricky of Coosawhatchie and Marshall Windell Ryan, Jr. and his wife Lisa of Springfield, Georgia; grandchildren, Ricky Rankin, Casey Smith, and Chad Teston; and great grandchildren, Evan, Kinleigh, Kara, Finley and Tucker. He was preceded in death by his siblings, Ervin Ryan, Jr., Aurelia Kinard, Carolyn Ryan, Evelyn Ryan, Delores Garner.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to: Bethel United Methodist Church, care of Jan Ulmer, 437 Spencer Drive, Ruffin, South Carolina 29475.
Funeral services will be held 3 o’clock, Monday afternoon, December 26, 2022 at Bethel United Methodist Church, 16147 Lowcountry Highway, Ruffin. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends for a time of visitation one hour prior to the service beginning at 2 pm, in the church sanctuary.
