Biography

Marshall Elwood Davis Nettles, 51, of Scuffletown Road, Ruffin, SC, entered into his eternal rest on Sunday, July 1, 2012, at his residence.

Funeral services will be conducted 11 o'clock Tuesday morning, July 3, 2012, from The Brice W. Herndon and Sons Walterboro Funeral Chapel. Interment will follow in Glendale Memorial Cemetery, 2210 Mount Carmel Road, Walterboro, SC.

Marshall was born March 6, 1961, in Walterboro and was a son of Marshall and Christine Walling Nettles. He was a member of Academy Road Baptist Church. He was a carpenter with Nettles Construction. He was an avid outdoorsman who loved fishing and hunting and was a member of the Bailey Hunting Club. He especially loved his family and spending time with them.

He is survived by his parents of Walterboro: his wife of sixteen years, Lynn Obrey- Davis of Ruffin; children, Eric Davis of Virginia, and Dylan and Logan Davis ,both of Ruffin; sisters, Marcia Writesel and her husband Steve of Walterboro, Cathy Hutchinson and her husband Hutch of Walterboro, Karen Shaffer and her husband Lance of Midland,Tx, and Donna Varn and her husband David of Walterboro; Mother and Father - in- law, Catherine and Frank Obrey of Davenport, Fl; and many nieces and nephews.
