Marlene Light

Ms. Barbara Marlene Walling Light, 56, of Walterboro, entered into eternal rest Friday morning, December 16, 2022 at her residence.

Born April 25, 1966 in Hampton County, she was a daughter of the late William Henry Walling, Jr. and Barbara Ann Smith Walling.  She was a boiler maker having worked in Charleston.  She enjoyed fishing and loved watching television.

Surviving are: her daughters, Samantha Light (Jennifer) of Islandton and Jenna Light Compton (Coleman) of Orangeburg; grandchildren, Kylie Fleming, Weston Fleming, and Charlee Compton; her significant other, Carlos Duran of Walterboro; sisters, Cheryl Kirby of Walterboro and Janet Trent (Russell) of Bluffton; and a niece, Kristin Kirby.  She was preceded in death by a brother, John H. Walling.

Graveside funeral services will be held 12 o’clock, Monday afternoon, December 19, 2022 at Peniel Baptist Church Cemetery, 37 Forks Road, Islandton.
