Mr. Mark Earl Derby, 62, of Titusville, Florida, entered into rest Tuesday, August 30, 2022.
Born December 27, 1959 in Lancaster, California, he was a son of Mrs. Rita Jones Derby and the late Mr. Leslie Earl Derby. Mr. Derby served our country faithfully in the United States Navy for twenty years, serving as a Health Care Administrator and retired as a Chief Petty Officer. After his time in service, he continued to work in the Health Care Industry. While in service, he was awarded the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal, the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal, a Meritorious Unit Commendation, Navy “E” Ribbon, Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Southwest Asia Service Medal, and Navy Sea Service Deployment Ribbon.
Surviving are: his wife, Mrs. Sherry Lynn Stoneback Derby; four children, James McClung (Crystal), James Earl Derby, Caden Christopher Derby, and Lela Tammie McClung; a brother, Tim Derby; a sister, Kaylee Derby; and two grandchildren, Emma McClung and Luka McClung. He was preceded in death by his father Leslie E. Derby, and sister, Terri Thomas.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed in his memory to the following: ASPCA, Wounded Warrior Project, or the International Fellowship of Christians and Jews.
Funeral services with Military Honors will be conducted 2 o’clock Wednesday afternoon, September 7, 2022, from the graveside at Ackerman Cemetery at Red Oak in Cottageville.
