Columbus, Ga- Mrs. Marjorie Warko, 84, of Columbus, GA, formerly of Walterboro, died Saturday, August 23, 2008 at Vista Care Hospice at Fransican Woods in Columbus, GA. She was the widow of John R. Warko, to whom she was married for 34 years.



Funeral services will be held 11 am, Tuesday, August 26, 2008 at Vance-Brooks Funeral Home in Columbus. Graveside services will be held 11 am, Thursday, August 28, 2008 at Fairfax Cemetery, Fairfax, SC. Visitation will be held following the committal service at First Baptist Church of Fairfax.



Mrs. Warko was born December 23, 1923 in Colleton County and was a daughter of the late Richard Brantley and Elah Breland Benton. She owned and operated Margies Beauty Shop, was a former member of First Baptist Church of Walterboro, the Clemson Extension Family and Community Leaders, the Charleston Artist Guild, the Colleton Artist Guild and the Watercolor Society; and was an accomplished watercolor artist. Upon moving to Columbus, she became a member of Edgewood United Methodist Church.



Surviving are: her children, Nancy Schroeder and her husband Jerry of Columbus, GA and Jim Warko and his wife Cheryl of Green Pond; brother, Dick Benton and his wife Martha of Bethune; grandchildren, Justin Warko and his wife Ashley of Walterboro, Jennifer Schroeder and her husband Ken of Columbus, GA, Erin Warko Sumner and her husband Eric of Simpsonville and Jeffrery Schroeder of Columbus, GA; great grandchildren, Bradlee Keefover, Hannah Keefover, Olivia Thomas, Jackson Thomas, Lindsay Warko, Krista Warko, Jathan Warko, Andrew Sumner and Anna Kate Sumner; and nephews, Ricky Benton of Manhatten, KS and Bill Krukowski and his wife Josie of Wilks-Barre, PA.
