Marion Smith

EARLY BRANCH- Mr. Marion Roy Smith, 74, of 4629 Cat Branch Road, Early Branch, entered into eternal rest Sunday, January 3, 2010 at Uni-Health Post Acute Care of the Lowcountry in Estill.



Mr. Smith was born October 3, 1935 in Jasper County and was a son of the late Nealie Smith and Eva Shipes Smith. He served his country faithfully in the United States Army and then in the Army National Guard. He then retired as a long distance truck driver.



Surviving are: his children, Kent Jarrell of Orangeburg; Brenda and Brian, both of New York and Bradley of Atlanta, Georgia; brothers and sisters, Sam Smith and his wife Mable of North Carolina, Elise Edwards Crouse and her husband Gaither of Varnville, Donald Smith and his wife Peggy of Early Branch, Evelyn Moody and her husband Ted of Varnville and Joyce Smith of Early Branch; several grandchildren; and a good friend, Doris Harvey of Hampton. He was preceded in death by three sisters, Violet Koger, Ethelyn Peeples and Virginia Lamb.
