Marion Marchant

June 5, 1942 — October 12, 2013


On Saturday night, October 12, 2013, Marion Marchant, wife of Joseph Marchant Sr., went home to be with our Lord Jesus Christ at the Roper Hospital in Charleston.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Ben and Essie Mae Smoak Ricketson; her daughter, Tammy Marchant Hall; and granddaughter, Mary Hall. She is survived by her husband of 56 years, Joseph Marchant Sr.; two sons, Joseph Marchant Jr. (Shelley) and Ricky Marchant (Lanelle); son-in-law, Keel Hall; seven grandchildren and one great grandson.
Marion was a devoted wife, mother and grandparent. As a member of First Baptist Church of Canadys she served her church faithfully, taught Sunday School, led the music at the church and served in several additional capacities including the Women’s Missionary Union. Her hobbies included cooking, quilting and fishing.
The funeral services will be held 11 o’clock Wednesday morning, October 16, 2013 at the Canadys First Baptist Church, 11383 Jefferies Highway, Walterboro. Interment will follow in Woodland Cemetery, Augusta Highway, Walterboro.
