Biography

Mr. Marion Ralph Stanley, Jr., 58, of Lonesome Dove Lane, Estill, entered into eternal rest Wednesday, May 11, 2011 at his residence.

Funeral services will be held 2 pm, Saturday, May 14, 2011 at The Brice W. Herndon and Sons Funeral Home, Varnville-Hampton Chapel. Interment will follow in Beaver Dam Baptist Church Cemetery.

Mr. Stanley was born July 27, 1952 in Varnville and was a son of Marion Ralph Stanley, Sr. and Mildred Smith Stanley. He was a member of the Walterboro Moose Lodge and the Moose Legionnaires, where he was a member of the Ritual Team. He was an avid deer and hog hunter and loved music and dancing.

Surviving are: his wife, Sara Barker Stanley of Estill; parents, Ralph and Mildred Stanley of Estill; children, Rodney Stanley and his wife Stephanie of Walterboro, Keith Stanley and his wife Mary of Hampton, Timothy Stanley and his wife April of Nixville and Joy DeLoach and her husband Kirk of Grays; step-children, Ron Jarrell of Estill and Bonnie J. Wilson and her husband Dewaine of Varnville; brother, Benny Stanley and his wife Melinda of Early Branch; 10 grandchildren; 15 step grandchildren; and 5 nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a brother, Phillip Stanley; and a sister, Joyce Stanley.
