Marion V. Fanning, 84, formerly of Fairfax County and Prince William County, Virginia, ended her long battle with Alzheimers disease on January 12, 2013, in Walterboro, South Carolina. Marion enjoyed an inspiring and successful Civil Service career at Fort Belvoir, Virginia, from which she retired in 1980.
She was predeceased by sons Charles and Stephen in 1970 and 1971, respectively, and by her husband, Carl D. Fanning, Sr., in 1980. She is survived by her daughter, Sandra M. Benites, of Walterboro, South Carolina, and her son, Carl D. Fanning, Jr., of Melbourne, Florida; her sister, Vivian D. Stull, of Dale City, Virginia, as well as nieces, nephews, grand-nieces, grandnephews, and many loving friends. We will all miss her enormously.

The funeral service will be held 11 am, Wednesday, January 16, 2013 at Demaine Funeral Home, Springfield, Virginia. Interment will follow at Mount Comfort Cemetery, Alexandria, Virginia.
