Marie Beaudrot Garvin

Mrs. Marie Beaudrot Garvin, 98, of Johns Island, entered into rest Monday morning, March 13, 2023, at Summerville Community Hospice.  She was the wife of the late Mr. Elliott William Garvin, Sr.

Born August 15, 1924, in Charleston, South Carolina, she was the last surviving of nine children born to the late Joseph Lewis Beaudrot and the late  Mary Amelia Simmons Beaudrot.  She was a retired clerk from the former Edwards Department Store and had attended at New Hope Christian Church with her family.   Marie was always giving of herself and always doing whatever she could to help others.  She enjoyed music as well as dancing and had a great love for all animals.

Surviving are: her children, Elliott William Garvin, Jr. of Johns Island and Catherine Marie Bishop of Islandton; eight grandchildren; James Garvin (Amy), Timmy Garvin (Heidi), Lorianne Garvin, Rachel Garvin, Will Garvin (Sandy), Ronnie Bishop (Lesia), Linda Crosby (Chuck), and Paula Bishop-Kendall (Rick); twenty-six great grandchildren; twenty-eight great great grandchildren; and one great great great grandchild.

Funeral services will be conducted at 12 noon Saturday afternoon, March 18, 2023, from The Brice W. Herndon and Sons Funeral Chapel, Walterboro.   Interment will follow in Sauldam Baptist Churchyard, 5945 County Line Road, Ravenel.
