Marie Derry Crosby

Mrs. Marie Derry Crosby, 82, entered into rest Thursday afternoon, March 24, 2016, at her home in Smoaks.

Funeral services will be conducted 3 o’clock Monday afternoon, March 28, 2016, from The Brice W. Herndon and Sons Funeral Chapel, Walterboro.  Interment will follow in Adnah United Methodist Churchyard, Islandton.

Born April 4, 1933 in Colleton County, she was a daughter of the late Harry and Eula Lee Youmans Derry.  She was a member of Canadys First Baptist Church.  She will always be remembered for the love she had for her family, grandchildren, great and great great grandchildren.

Surviving are: her husband of almost fifty years, Mr. Daniel Edwin “Shorty” Crosby, Jr.; and two children, Janita Beckett of Walterboro and Stanley E. Crosby, Sr. and his wife Dorothy of Smoaks.  There are ten grandchildren; sixteen great grandchildren; and seven great great grandchildren as well as several nieces and nephews that also survive.  She was preceded in death by a daughter, Linda Seagrove; three grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
