Mrs. Jennie Marie Drawdy Craven, 90, of 191 Tupon Lane in the Wiggins Community of Colleton County near Green Pond, passed away Wednesday afternoon, April 15, 2009 at her granddaughters residence in Walterboro under the care of Winyah Hospice. She was the widow of Mr. Harry Henry Craven.
Funeral services will be conducted 1 oclock Monday afternoon, April 20, 2009, from The Brice W. Herndon and Sons Funeral Chapel, Walterboro with The Reverend Jack Padgett officiating. Interment will follow in Bedon Baptist Churchyard, 2410 Cottageville Highway, Walterboro.
Mrs. Craven was born February 19, 1919, in Colleton County and was a daughter of the late Wade Hampton Drawdy and the late Lucille Linder Drawdy. In her earlier years, she was a seamstress for various clothing manufacturers around the county and was a retired screen grader from J.P. Stevens in Walterboro. She was a member of Jacksonboro Baptist Church. She will be remembered for the love she had for fishing the local creeks and sitting on her porch enjoying nature and the animals she dearly loved.
Surviving are: her three sons, Johnny Craven and his wife Jan of Walterboro, David Craven of Wiggins, and Larry Craven of Woodbine, Georgia. There are eleven grandchildren as well as numerous great grandchildren and great great grandchildren.
