Sister Marie Brown Bolds, was born on April 3, 1920 in Hendersonville, South Carolina. She was a duaghter of Janie Brown and Robert Mixon. She departed this life on April 27, 2008.
Mother's first experience with Jesus Christ was at an early age, when she joined Abraham C.M.E. Church. While there, she served faithfully on the Chior, Stewardess adn Usher Boards.
In her later life, she joined More Than Conqueror Intermational Ministry, where she served faithfully. Her motto was: "Church is not an option, for I shall live and not die to declare the works of the Lord." Nothing ever hindered Mother from going to church to her the Word of God that gave her life.
Mother was formerly educated in Colleton County School District. She was a natural visionary entrepreneur.
In April 1938, she united in holy matrimony to Solomon Bolds. She was a faithful and loving wife, until he preceded her in eternal life on August 25, 1973. To this union they were gifted with nine children. Three children preceded her in eternal life: William Joseph Bolds (1988), Solomon Bolds, Jr. (1994), and Cecelia r. Gist Cooper (2000) and a treasured great-granddaughter, Lauren Marie Gist (2007). Also, two brothers, Clayton Bradley and Wilbur Bradley; and one son-in-law, James L. Bodison.
Mother leaves to cherish her memories: one darling brother, Roscoe Bradley (Josephine); one son, Nathaniel Bolds (Margaret); four daughters, Gloria Bolds Nix (Duncan), Sarah Bolds Bodison, Irene Bolds Moultrie (Donald), Rose Bolds Ruger (McKever); as well as several grandchildren and great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, church family and friends.
Funeral services will be conducted 12 noon, Saturday, May 3, 2008, from The Brice W. Herndon and Sons Funeral Chapel, Walterboro with The Reverend Dr. Mary B. Memminger and Pastor Janette Hall officiating.
