Mrs. Margaret Denham Stanfield, 83, of 410 Brittlebank Road, Walterboro, entered into her state of eternal rest Monday afternoon, April 5, 2010, at her residence under the care of Hospice Care of South Carolina. For sixty-seven years she was married to Mr. Harry Bellinger Stanfield, who passed away December of 2007.
Funeral services will be conducted 6 oclock Wednesday evening, April 7, 2010, from The Brice W. Herndon and Sons Funeral Chapel, Walterboro with The Reverend Kenneth Bailey and The Reverend Fr. Randy C. Morgan officiating. Mrs. Stanfield will be laid to rest in a private ceremony in the family cemetery located on the property of the family farm, Turkey Run on Cane Branch Road, Walterboro.
Mrs. Stanfield was born April 4, 1927, in Clayton, Alabama and was a daughter of the late Jasper Levert Denham and the late Betty Williams Denham. She was a member of Bedon Baptist Church in Walterboro and will be remembered as a loving and caring housewife who always provided as a wonderful wife, mother, and grandmother.
Surviving are: her four children, Patricia Utsey of Walterboro, Franklin Stanfield of Bloomingdale, Georgia, Harry B. Stanfield, Jr. of Walterboro, and Idella Robertson of Walterboro; two brothers, Donald Denham of Montgomery, Alabama and Ladon Denham of Newnan, Georgia; and two sisters, Jimmie Nell Bettin of Union Springs, Alabama and Diane Steedley of Union Springs, Alabama. There are eleven grandchildren and twenty-one great grandchildren that also survive. She was preceded in death by a sister, Gladys Phillips of Montgomery, Alabama.
The family would like to express their heartfelt appreciation to the administration and staff of Hospice Care of South Carolina as well as Mrs. Stanfields dedicated caregivers, Ozene, Albertha, Mary, Ann, and Virginia for the love and care the selflessly gave over the past two years.
