Margaret Mixson

Mrs. Margaret Mixson, 83, of Bamberg Highway, Hampton, entered into eternal rest Friday, April 15, 2016 at her residence.  She was the widow of the late Eli Mixson, Jr., to whom she was married for 60 years.

Funeral services will be 3 pm, Sunday, April 17, 2016 at The Brice W. Herndon and Sons Funeral Home, Varnville-Hampton Chapel.  Pastor Don Davis officiating.  Interment will follow in Sand Hill Cemetery.  Pallbearers will be Ben Rushing, Doug Mixson, Jr., David Mixon, Matthew Mixon, Walter Yeisley, Jr., Daniel Yeisley, Greg Mixson, Jr. and Larry Barnes.

Born November 6, 1932 in Varnville, she was a daughter of the late Wyman and Alma Ulmer Mixson.  She was a housewife and attended Grace Baptist Church.  Mrs. Mixson was a woman who loved the Lord, her family and friends.  She will be remembered as a devoted wife, momma, MaMa and friend.

Surviving are: her children, Joan Rushing (Gene) of Estill, Harrison Mixson (Lynn) of Fairfax, Douglas Mixson (Ruth) of Ashton, Janet Mixon (William) of Grays, Karen Yeisley (Walter) of Grays, Gregory Mixson (Jessica) of Hampton, and Kent Mixson (Gale) of Tennessee; and sisters, Rita Bridges of Hampton, Betty Heape (James) of Varnville, and Annie Lou Mixson of Sheldon.  She had 17 grandchildren; and 21 great grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by 2 sisters and 4 brothers.
