Maggie Thomas

Ms. Maggie Lee Thomas, 77, of Varnville, passed away Monday, November 16, 2009.



Funeral services will be held 11 oclock Thursday, November 19, 2009, at The Brice W. Herndon and Sons Funeral Chapel, Varnville. Interment will follow in Varnville Cemetery.



Ms. Thomas was born April 3, 1932 in Hampton County, SC and was a daughter of the late Burrell Hugh Thomas and Maggie Lee Tuten Bennett. She was a retired dispatcher from Varnville Police Department. She will be remembered for her love of people, for being a hard-working and caring person, and for her love of dancing and playing games, especially BINGO.



Surviving are: her children, Charlotte Lee Light of Varnville, Robert David Smith of Hampton, Rose Mary Ferguson of Brunson, Roger Dean Smith of Cummings and Earl Lynwood Smith of Varnville; sister, Maybelle Gooding of Hephzibah, GA; half-brother, Leroy Bennett of Florida; several grandchildren; and several great grandchildren.
