Lula Benton

. Lula Raymond Benton, 62, of Walterboro, entered into her state of eternal rest Monday morning, January 10, 2011, at Hospice of Charleston in Mount Pleasant.



Funeral services will be conducted 2 oclock Friday afternoon, January 14, 2011, from The Brice W. Herndon and Sons Funeral Chapel, Walterboro with The Reverend Jadon Buckner officiating. Interment will follow in Pine Grove Baptist Church Cemetery, 99 Pine Grove Road, Walterboro.



Mrs. Benton was born September 4, 1948, in Mullins, South Carolina and was a daughter of the late Julius Raymond and the late Vera Suggs Raymond. She was a member of the Walterboro Christian Center in Walterboro where she was a former usher and a member of the prayer group.



Surviving are: her husband of twenty years, Mr. Wayne Edward Benton; two daughters, Lynn Wyman of North Bergen, New Jersey and Janet Hodges of Islandton; and two sisters, Mary Hiers of Lodge and Helen Jones of Manning. There are seven grandchildren, Jennifer Ann Groves and her husband Carlton of Nieces, Justin Groves of Jersey City, New Jersey, Gabriela Wyman of Cape May, New Jersey, Jacob Wyman of Cape May, New Jersey, Mark Groves of Moncks Corner, Sheena Ryan of Islandton, and Beth Groves of Walterboro; as well as three great grandchildren, Halyee, Javier, and Isabel that also survives.
