Mrs. Lucy Reid Hoats Bumgarner, 52, of Paradise Road, Ruffin, entered into eternal rest Thursday, November 21, 2013.
A memorial service will be held 1 pm, Saturday, December 7 at her daughters home at 64 Jaycocks Allie Street, Walterboro, SC. Interment will follow in Smoaks Family Cemetery, Ruffin.
Born September 16, 1961 in Walterboro, she was a daughter of the late James M. Hoats and Phoebe Newby Hoats. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother, who enjoyed fishing, crocheting and making crafts for her family and friends. She will always be remembered as a strong person who centered her life around her family and kept them together.
Surviving are: her husband, Abraham Bumgarner of Ruffin; daughter, Sarah Elizabeth Bumgarner of Walterboro; grandson, James Fuller Ackerman; and a sister, Meranda Rendy Hoats Carter of Keeling, Virginia. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Annie Rebecca Bumgarner.
