COTTAGEVILLE- Mr. Lucius Allen Cattles, Sr., 68, of Cottageville, died Saturday, March 7, 2009 at the VA Hospital in Charleston.
Funeral services will be held 11 am, Wednesday, March 11, 2009, at The Brice W. Herndon and Sons Funeral Home, Walterboro Chapel. Interment will follow in Ackerman Cemetery at Red Oak in Cottageville.
Mr. Cattles was born January 9, 1941 in Ridgeville, SC and was a son of the late Martin Lucius Cattles and Lillian Cammer Cattles. He served his country honorably and faithfully in the United States Navy, having served in Vietnam, and retired after 22 of years. Mr. Cattles was of the Baptist faith and when he could, he enjoyed hunting and fishing.
Surviving are: his children, Lucius Allen Cattles, Jr. (United States Air Force) and his wife Larissa, stationed in Afghanistan, Martina R. Cattles of Charleston and Catherine M. Cattles of Atlanta, Georgia; brothers, John Rutledge Martin Cattles and his wife Tenia of Summerville, Victor C. Cattles of Cottageville, Glen Edward Cattles and his wife Linda of Cottageville and Steven J. Cattles and his wife Kelsey of Cottageville; sisters, Myrtle Rose Stoneback of Titusville, Florida and Shirley Ward of Goose Creek; his former wife, Carmelita Cattles of James Island; and grandchildren, Alyssa Lauren Cattles, Megan Elyse Cattles and Christian Anthony Cattles. He was preceded in death by a brother, Jimmie Cattles.
