Mrs. Louise Scott Jordan, 74, of Ruffin, entered into rest Monday afternoon, May 20, 2013, at her daughters residence under the care of Agape Hospice.
For fifty-seven years, she was married to Mr. Henry Lamar Jordan who died April 14, 2013, and this coming Friday they would have celebrated their fifty-eighth anniversary. Lamar and Louise made Colleton County their home for the past twenty years. He a United States Navy Veteran of the Korean Conflict, was a trooper for twenty-one years with the South Carolina Highway Patrol and after that retirement then worked for the South Carolina Department of Motor Vehicles where he retired a second time as a drivers license examiner.
Born July 8, 1938, a native of Aiken, South Carolina, she was a daughter of the late Leon Scott and the late Katie Hall Scott. She was a retired district sales manager for Kerr McGee Chemical Corporation. She was a member of Shiloh Baptist Church near Sniders and was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star - Walterboro Chapter No. 147 where she severed several terms as the Chapters star point, Martha. Louise will be fondly remembered for her love of playing the piano.
Surviving are: a son, Daniel Leon Jordan and his wife Tamara of Campbell, California; a daughter, Teresa Jordan Kirby and her husband Billy of Ruffin; a sister, Erline Piper of Aiken, South Carolina; and a brother, Lindsey Scott of Tennessee. There are five grandchildren, Meredith DAgostino, J. Matthew Nettles, Edward S. Jordan, Kristin A. Kirby, and Courtney Paige Jordan; as well as four great grandchildren that also survive.
The family wishes to express their heartfelt appreciation to the nurses and staff of Agape Hospice, who through the illness of both Lamar and Louise provided such diligent and loving care during their last days.
A private family memorial service will be held Saturday, May 25, 2013.
