Linda Christine Peyton

Linda Christine Peyton, age 63, of Lexington, made her spiritual journey to meet the Lord Saturday, September 3, 2022.  She died in the comfort of her home surrounded by her devoted husband, son, and loving family.

Linda was a Hampton County native born July 4, 1959.  She was raised with strong Christian values and loved the Lord very much.  She was known for her beautiful blue eyes and a smile which could light up any room. When asked one adjective to describe herself, she responded, “sensitive”.  Though she was a beautiful person inside and out, kind, generous, thoughtful, she was indeed sensitive both internally and externally.  She was sensitive to the needs of others and her caring was beyond measure.  Linda was also selfless, a non-judgmental listener, reserved and very private.  She was one-of-a-kind rare person that was loved very much by her husband and family.  She will be missed very much.

She was married February 18, 1984 to Jerry D. Peyton of Burke, Virginia and they have one son, William Peyton.  Linda and Jerry were best of friends and she was the love of his life.

Both her husband and sister would laugh and compare her to the “Princess and the Pea”, as the bed had to be super tight and she would get you up to straighten if everything was not quite right.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Earl Franklin Stanley and Pauline Smith Stanley.

Also surviving are: a sister, Karen Tuten (Morris) Sonny Stanley (Teresa), Ricky Stanley (Linda), and Bruce Stanley (Bonnie) as well as cherished nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be conducted 11 o’clock Wednesday morning, September 7, 2022, from The Brice W. Herndon and Sons Funeral Chapel, Varnville.   Interment will follow in Sandy Run Cemetery, Sandy Run Road, Hampton.
